NAMM Advocacy Fly-In

NAMM (The National Association of Music Merchants), the largest global not-for-profit music trade organization, announced today that it will gather members for the 19th NAMM Advocacy D.C. Fly-In, taking place from May 5–8, 2025, in an ongoing effort to advocate for music education funding.
NAMM member delegates and industry partners will gather at the U.S. Capitol to represent the music products industry's commitment to advocating for federal funding for music education through Title I, Title II and Title IV, Part A as outlined in the Every Student Succeeds Act federal education law. Equipped with training, materials and the support of NAMM staff and education experts, member delegates will have the opportunity to educate Members of Congress on the development of workforce skills, career opportunities and the economic impact of an education that includes music and the arts.
The NAMM Advocacy Fly-In will kick off with a Day of Service at Eastern Senior High School to set the stage for this vital work and foster connections with the community. As the political climate evolves, ensuring music education remains a priority requires a united front from music business leaders, educators and industry partners. The upcoming NAMM Advocacy Fly-In allows NAMM members to express gratitude to Members of Congress who champion music and arts education.
“NAMM is proud to continue our steadfast commitment to providing a united voice in support of federal funding for music education at all levels,” said John Mlynczak, NAMM president and CEO.
“Our efforts this year build upon decades of advocacy, and we will only amplify our efforts in this current climate to ensure that every child has access to music education as part of their well-rounded curriculum.”
“Participating in the last D.C. Fly-In to advocate for music education was an invaluable experience, and I came home with lots of knowledge that will help me continue advocating at home,” said member Scott Rife, regional sales manager of Eastman Music. “My only regret is not attending sooner!” This year, the NAMM Advocacy D.C. Fly-In will include more than 94 NAMM-member delegates and industry partners from all 50 states, participating in 250-plus critical meetings to advocate for music education funding.
